FAQ
Q: Are you still going to use AlmaLinux source code? A: Yes, we will continue to use AlmaLinux source code.
Q: How many more packages will Oreon have when compared to RHEL? A: We have plans to provide over 1,000 more packages than RHEL that will ship in batches with feature updates.
Q: When will Oreon 10 release for everyone to use? A: Starting November 2024, we will be providing early preview builds for this release, but is not recommended as a daily driver yet. We will fully release Oreon 10 sometime in 2025.
Q: Will Oreon Lime (R2) continue to be supported? A: Yes, we will continue providing new features to the older release until April 2025 and security updates until May 2032.
Warning
Early preview builds are only intended for testing purposes. We do not recommend using Oreon 10 for production purposes until it is on the stable release. We are not responsible for any data loss or corruption with pre-release versions.
